Calendar data retention
Hi, We have two users who need to keep their calendar data longer then other users. I think I have an idea of what needs to be done but I am not sure. If I go to Outlook Configuration -> Mailbox -> Manage Default Folders and right click on Calendar and select New Managed Content Settings , I can see option for length of retention period. I am not sure if I need to do anything else (do I need a Managed Folder managed policy, etc). Also I am not sure how to add this retention policy to only the two users. We are on Exchange 2007. Let me know if you require more details. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a retention policy that deletes their calendar data? If so, then you can clear the policy from the mailboxes with a command like: Set-Mailbox -Identity Name -ManagedFolderMailboxPolicy $Null or you can apply a different policy by replacing $Null with the name of the policy. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . Hi Ed, Thanks for replying to my question. As far as I can see there are no retention policies set for the calendars. I am looking in properties box for the users and going to Mailbox Settings -> Messaging Records Management . Is this the place to see if any retention policies are assigned? Sorry, I am new to Exchange.

Nothing is created by default. By default, nothing is deleted from any folders automatically. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." .
