Calendar syncing problems, messages not disappearing
So let me set this up for you before I explain my problem. We have an Executive Assistant the keeps tracks of most of our exec's calendars. She is a delegate on about 13. Each one of those executives has either an Iphone or a blackberry, sometimes both. Some execs have an ipad and an android device, sometime both. And some execs have all 4 devices, plus a laptop. Mind you, they expect everything to sync the moment a change happens. We are having a problem where the E.A. makes a change on one of the calendar and deletes a meeting or puts in a new meeting. And sometimes...like 3% of the time, the meeting either doesn't go away or doesn't show up on all devices and members. AND, when she deletes it in each calendar it wants to send an email every time she goes to delete it off someones calendar. So, the questions.. 1. Is having 5 active sync devices attached to one exchange account normal and within supportability? 2. Should an EA have access and view 13 calendars all day every day? 3. Does anyone have documentation on what Microsoft recommends per account or per site for activesync and what is reasonable? 4. Is there logging I should be looking at that could tell me where something goes wrong in the syncing of calendars?

Hi, To try and answer some of your questions. 1. Yes it should be just fine having 5 devices to sync with, the schedule is up to the person using them. I have had 3 running on my account without any issues. I would still say that running 5 is a bit much, but if they want to they can. 2. Yes she should, an alternative is investing in some thirdparty software that can gather the calenders in a more simple view, but ultimately she has to check all in some way. 3. Not quite sure what you mean here. /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.

Hi, 4, You can use the Calendar logging for capture track of the Calendar processing for the organizer and attendance. Or the Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant to record the Calendar phase. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841615 Thanks AllenAllen Song
