Calender sync/share between mutiple forests
Hi
We are investigating the possibilities to share/sync calendar info between 2 seperate forests and Exchange ORG's. With several inter-org tools this seems possible. But I'm missing 1 piece of information.
Do you need an actual mailbox in the other forest to show up in the GAL, so users in that forest can select your calendar ? Or is a mail-recipient address enough ?
Is the calendar info actually syncronized to the other forest, or will the server look up the info in the original forest when a lookup is done ?
Grtz

Hi,
I will dig into that article. Thanx.
Quick question though. Do I really need Exch 2010 ? Or is the process for Exch2007 similar ? If not, we will have to move to Exch2010 earlier.
Greetings and thanx again.
Richard
Edit:
I think I already found the answer to that. Need to learn to hit Search before Reply.

Hi THX1138LW,
If you are running Exchange 2007: "Although you can synchronize free/busy information across forests and use it to schedule meetings, you cannot use the
Open Other User's Folder feature in Microsoft Office Outlook to view the calendar details for a user in another forest. "

If you are running Exchange 2010, you can use Federated Delegation.

Frank,
Thanks for that info. The business is asking exactly for the ability to open other users Calendars. Guess they'll have to wait until we move to 2010 later this year.
Greetings,
Richard
