Can't Determine How Exchange Server Is Picking Up E-mail
Hi, I've just picked up a client who has Win 2000 SBS and I can't figure out how/where their Exchange Server is picking up their e-mail. Their Exchange Server is not using 'Connector For POP3 Mailboxes'. They don't seem to have any idea as to how it's configured. The only clue they've given me is that "sometimes their e-mail host (comcast) changes their IP address" and they would call their old service provider to change something in order to receive e-mail again. Any ideas or nudges in the right direction would be greatlyappreciated. Thanks, James

There could be a number of things that are going on. On the client, are they using POP3 config or IMAP or MAPI to SBS or some ISP (comcast)? On the server side, do you have SMTP connector running and accepting mail from the external MTAs? If ISP changes their IP, are customers calling in to update MX records? Happy hunting
