Can't attach files in owa Exchange 2007
Hello, my users had faced the problem sometimes that files cannot be attached to an email.
Everything works fine, then all of a sudden when a user attaches something, the pop up window keeps on loading and loding even if the file is small (400 kb for say) and never attaches anything.
Do you guys have an idea about how to solve this?
Thank you.

Hi John ,
In most cases AntiVirus might be the cause so try to disable it than check it again I hope your problem will be resolved.
Regards.

Hi,
Do many users have this issue? If the issue only happen to a few users, I recommend you first check the problem on the client side. If you
have narrow down the problem to exchange server, please follow these steps to troubleshoot:
Step 1: Try to attach a smaller file (less than 50KB). What's result?
If no problem, please check the IIS settings:
1. Open properties of OWA virtual directory.
2. In Directory Security tab, under Secure communications, click Edit. Make sure that the box "Ignore client certificates" is sleeted.
3. Restart IIS when it's possible.
If the issue persists, move to the next step:
Step 2: Open ESM, run the following command to specify the maxsendsize value for a user who has this problem.
Set-mailbox <UserAlias> -maxsendsize:20MB
Then test to see if the issue persists.

Thank you guys. As I said, it happens all of sudden and seems to get fixed the same way.
The same user, succeeded today attaching the same file that yesterday could't. I didn't change a thing.
Your repplies seem very helpfull so I will try them when facing the same problem again and post the results.

Hello, I just noticed something pretty interesting after one of my users had the same problem again. Note that this problem only happens every now and then with the intranet users.
When the problem comes up, if a user access OWA through the local address, everything works fine:
Say: http://mailservername/owa/
But, if a user access it through the external domain or public IP, then the problem appears.
In the end I conclude that the problem only appears, sometimes, when using OWA through the public access in the intranet.
Anyway I think this shouldn't happen. Any ideas?

Hello,
We are encountering the same issue when accessing OWA through the ISA 2006 the attachments are uploading, then the dialog goes blank and nothing is attached.
Everything works fine when accessing owa internally, so I think it might be related to the ISA, but unable to find what's wrong.
I tried deleting/creating again the publishing rule on the ISA, still the same issue.
It used to work, what lead me to think that it might be an update either on the ISA ; or on Exchange.
Any help is more than welcome.

If It is realated to one user
Open ESM, run the following command to specify the maxsendsize value for a user who has this problem.
Set-mailbox <UserAlias> -maxsendsize:20MB
If you are using any firewall with Spoofing please check the mail send setting on that

In our case it is related to every users. The Max Send Size is set to 10 MB.

Edit : after some testing it appears that attaching a file less than 45 kB (a little bit more in fact) is ok, but then fails when the size is over that limit. Still no clue on what is happening, going to try to trace the packets... but in https
I fear I won't see anything.
