There seems to be some type of bug or setting issue for the deletion of custom created pivot table styles. I have an employee that created a custom pivot table style that can not be deleted or modified.  When you right click on the custom style the menu box opens, giving you the choice to modify, delete, etc. the pivot style.  However, when you click on modify or delete, nothing happens. The custom pivot table style continues to be listed.

I don't seem to have problems on my machine.  I can modify, delete, etc. any pivot table style created.  However, for some reason, that functionality is not working on her machine.  We need a quick suggestion.  Thank you so much for your help.

Based on your description, could you tell me which version of Excel are you using? I test it in Excel 2013 and Excel 2010, but I cant reproduce this issue.

First try to check XLSTART folder and back up all files contain hidden files in this folder, which stored the custom template in excel. Then clean up them, and check if the issue is solved.

The path of XLSTAT folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

Then Try to open this file in safe mode and check if it can be deleted or modified normally. If it works fine please check if there are third-part add-ins in excel, this issue might be caused incompatible with add-ins in Excel.

I had the same problem, spent time looking for a solution and finally I found on internet a person saying that solved it unprotecting the sheets of the workbook. I have looked for a hidden sheets in my workbook and yes, there was a hidden sheet that was protected!

Unprotecting my hidden sheet enabled me to modify and delete pivot styles again! :)
