Can't move replicas from Exch2007 to Exch2003
I have an SBS 2003 installation that has exchange 2003. I installed another server using server 2008 and installed exchange 2007. I now want to uninstall exchange 2007 and have begun the process of removal. I have removed the public folders data that was on the 2008 server and am currently trying to move the public folder replicas to the 2003 exchange server. When I go to the 2003 exchange system manager and try to move the replicas I get the following error: An internal server error has occured on the server. The requested operation failed ID no: c1030af2 Echange System Manager I have also tried to use an exchange 2007 script to move the replicas but it doesn't seem to take. What do I need to do to remove this? Thanks in advance.

Can you clarify what you mean by "I have removed the public folders data that was on the 2008 server" as opposed to your other statement "currently trying to move the public folder replicas to the 2003 exchange server" ? Do the public folders currently have both servers listed as replicas?

Issue description: Here we have a mixed environment, you want to do a replica deletion on the exchange 2007. Please let me re-describe your environment to clear out: In this mixed environment, you want to uninstall exchange 2007. So follows KB 927464, you tried to remove public folder stores at first, please correct me if I have misunderstood it Check info: 1. The traffic is ok between two servers, right? 2. Does exchange 2003 has a normal public folder store when you used MoveAllReplicas.ps1? You know the script wont work if theres no public store, right? 3. Since you have tried both methods in the KB, did all public folders not replicate completely or partially? Please run Get-PublicFolderStatistics against exchange 2007 to confirm as showed in the KB above Troubleshooting for error c1030af2: 1. Check if you can expand the public folders on the exchange 2003 1. Make sure that default public folder store of exchange 2003 is pointed to itself 2. Please follow the steps on the Error ID number: c1030af2 section of this article 3. KB 906907 Troubleshooting for replica deletion issue: 1. First thing to do: Disable all 3rd party services on the both public servers 2. Now, rise diagnose level to maximum to monitor the replication on the all public servers Exchange 2003: Logging on Replication Incoming and Replication Outgoing to Maximum in the Properties of issued server via ESM [Procedure] Exchange 2007: Use Set-EventLogLevel to set "MSExchangeIS\9001 Public\Replication Incoming Messages" and "MSExchangeIS\9001 Public\Replication Outgoing Messages" to the Expert level in EMS 3. Please try to do the script again, go the scripts directory and run the cmdlet below .\ MoveAllReplicas.ps1 -Server MySourceServer -NewServer MyTargetServer 4. Monitor the incoming/outgoing replication event in the application log [Related event] and replication message flow [Message tracking] on both servers [The steps to troubleshoot this move process] Notes: Public store SMTP address Exchange 2003: ServerName-IS@DomainName.com Exchange 2007: PublicFolderName@DomainName.com References: How to Move Public Folder Content from one Public Folder Database to Another Public Folder Database
