Can I sort address Lists in Exchange 2007 by Surname?
We havea new installation of Exchange 2007 whichI am getting used to. I would like to create a custom Address list sorted on Surname field instead of the Default Displayname Field. The reason for this is that this system holds many elected representatives mailboxes and they all want to be called "Cllr J Bloggs" (eg their display name is Cllr Initial Surname), but they want to see the names listed in Surname order so that Cllr J Bloggs appears after Cllr A Jones. Note - all names have been changed to protect the innocent....... The Wizard only seems to sort by display name, and I haven't yet found how to sort using the Exchange command line console. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris, I am not sure if this will help but I have had to perform a similar task for a large Exchange 2003 installation using the ADModify tool. This changes the order of the Display name in AD without effecting the ofther AD attributes. This thendisplays in this format in the GAL. http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/w2k3/utilities/admodify.htm I was recently looking tocreate a custom addresslist in Exchange 2007 and change the fields displayed but I could not find any information on this around. Cheers, Rhys
