Can i temporarily disable exchange 2010?
I am having Exchange Server 2010 installed in a Windows Server 2008 R2 Machine. The windows machine is a part of domain mydomain.com. I want to disable the exchange server 2010 in that machine and remove the machine from domain. After a while can i join it back to domain and enable exchange 2010 so that it works as it worked before? - Santron Manibharathi. Edit: I am not sure whether it can be done. But is there a possibility?

If the duration is for a short span and you are not going to use this machine for any other purpose, its Ok to do. You can disconnect the machine from network and keep it safe. Once you want it back, you can reconnect it back. But keep in mind that the computer account of Exchange server may become stale if its not in contact with the domain after certain number of days.Shaba

Hi You can unplug it as Shaba said but you cannot remove the computer from the domain and rejoin it. This is not supported. If you want to do this you need to uninstall Exchange first. Cheers, Steve
