2) - HUB and Edge server
I know that we cannot modify Edge 2007 name:

Any information would be really appreciated in this regards and MS provided information would be very useful (Like KB article)

An IP change is suppoted but a exch server name is not supported as far as I know. I can't get any offcial info on this yet but Im sure.
What you can do is create another server with your desired name and move mailboxes/services/roles across.

Renaming your Exchange server, attributed to two unnamed MVPs:
You just broke your exchange server, congratulation.
Only if you don't want Exchange to work afterwards.

As to KBs, I only know about this one (which is not updated for Exchange 2007 or later)
Q. How do you rename the Microsoft Exchange Server computer name?
A. Note that this will only work if there is only one Microsoft Exchange Server in the Site. This information can also be found in the Microsoft Exchange Resource Kit.

This topic intrigues me. Seems to me that with database portability, you technically should be able to rename an Exchange Server in 2007 and 2010. ( you would need to clean up the AD attributes for an account and DNS/IIS as well of course). The question
is if its truly not supported still . Let me see what I find and will post back here if I do find anything official.

Ok, checked with some knowledgeable people and it is still not supported to change the name of an Exchange Server. However, you are correct there doesnt appear to be any "official" documentation and that will be corrected. Hope that helps!
