Cannot Access OWA externally from intranet page
SBS 2003 was set up in the office. Can access link to OWA internally, but cannot configure link to access OWA externally. Link is as follows: http://SBS_IP/exchange. How do I configure the remote e-mail access link to work from the intranet via the web. I can access the intranet via the web. Thanks

you have to nat your public ip to the private ip of your exchange server on your router / firewall and allow traffic to passon port 80 (for standard http) or 443 (if you have an ssl certificate). you owa url would then be http://public_ip/exchange for external users

I am green to NAT. Exactly how would I do that. I am using a D-link router

That depends on what router you are using and if you using the web interface to configure it or the command line interface. The manufacturers normally provide a pretty comprehensive guide as to how to do it and google will return many answers. Pretty Much all you have to do is map either an unused public ip to the internal server ip and open port 80 or configure your router to map port 80 on the public ip to the exchange server. Sorry to be so vague but its a bit difficult to go into more detail without knowing the router / firewall config you have.

Pastor, If your goal is to access OWA externally, my recommendation is to go straight to it by typing http://public_ip/exchange Now if you are just trying to edit the intranet'sremote e-mail access link, then what you have to do is to click on the help links title bar. The next page should give you the option to edit the link directly. I would recommend you add a new link to the external remote e-mail access link. Either case the link should be pointing to http://public_ip/exchange Hope this helps, Walter

you still nat the public ip to the private ip to get to it from the internet
