Cannot Uninstall 2007 Management Tools on XP64
OK, So I wnat to re-install the Exchange 2007 Admin tools to document the install procedure. I uninstall the rollups, all goes fine. I uninstall the Management tools and I gt an error regarding "remote registry".Since then I cannot uninstall the tools as the option to uncheck it's box in the add/remove roles section is ticked, yet greyed-out.If I try and re-install the tools or any Rollup updatesI get an error telling me I cannot install whilst the Uninstall has not finished. Revo Uninstall does not show Exchange in it's list of applications and trying to manually choose it throws an error that there is no installation package.I have tried the msiexec.exe /X{Product ID} command, error message as before, I have tried the Windows Installer cleanup package, but it's not listed. The tools still run though, so it IS installed, but cannot be removed.Totally lost, totally confused, thoroughly miffed.Any help gladly accepted.

Did you tried rebooting the box once? and then try uninstalling the Management Tools? If that fails i would ask you to try once in Safe mode to uninstall the same.Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Nope, nada, nothing, zip, zilch and all the rest. Still get the Management tools checked, but greyed out, cannot unselect it, nor re-install over the top of it or upgrade it. Any other ideas out there?

OK, now my icon for the Powershell/Exchange management Shell has gone and if I try to change the icon I get a "Windows cannot find the file %systemroot%\Installer\{24B2C164-DE66-44FE-B468-A46D9D5E6B31}\powershell.exe}The Powershell app runs fine, as do my scripts, but again it looks as though windows thinks it's not installed. Can anyone help or do I do the usual MS fix and re-install my OS?
