Hi, I have been hitting this issue since I installed Exchange 2007 in a separate machine from where the the Domain Controller is. I successfully completed the Exchange 2007 installation, but every time I try to create a Mailbox I get the following message: Administrator Failed Error: The Exchange server address list service failed to respond. This could be because of an address list or email address policy configuration error. Exchange Management Shell command attempted: Enable-Mailbox -Identity 'dg-benchmark.com/Users/Administrator' -Alias 'Administrator' -Database 'EXCHANGE2007\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database' Elapsed Time: 00:00:00 I am getting warnings on the Event Viewer related to "MSExchange ADAccess": Process MAD.EXE (PID=2780). Exchange Active Directory Provider has discovered the following servers with the following characteristics: (Server name | Roles | Enabled | Reachability | Synchronized | GC capable | PDC | SACL right | Critical Data | Netlogon | OS Version) In-site: DomainController.XXXXXXX.com CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1 Out-of-site: Can someone help me to figure out what the source of the problem is?? Hi Frank. From the link provided above I have verified items 5,6,7 and they are fine. However, since I am not very experienced on Exchange 2007 I haven't been able to verify the following items: 1. The CN=Public Folders object is missing under CN=All Address Lists in the Active Directory directory service. 2. The Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object and all child objects check box is *not selected* on the CN=All Address Lists object and on the CN=Public Folders object. This checkbox must exist on both objects. How do I verify these settings in AD?? Thanks. Juan.

Hi Frank. The settings are correct, but I still cannot create the mailbox. Event viewer is now reporting these errors when I try to create the mailbox: MSExchange ADAccess, Event ID 2152 Process mmc.exe (EMC) (PID=1576). An remote procedure call (RPC) request to the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology service failed with error 1753 (Error 6d9 from HrGetServersForRole). Make sure that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is running. In addition, make sure that the network ports that are used by RPC are not blocked by a firewall. MSExchange Common, Event ID 4999 Watson report about to be sent to dw20.exe for process id: 2268, with parameters: E12N, c-rtl-AMD64, 08.01.0240.006, mad.exe, ExRPC32.dll, de050, c0000005, a0c3, 08.01.0240.005. If you install Exchange 2007 in Exchange 2003 organization , this is the first Exchange 2007 server? Please run the cmdlet and post results here. Hi Frank, This is a clean Exchange 2007 install on Windows 2003 64 bit Enterprise Edition, SP2. The cmdlet doesn't return anything. I have windows update enabled, so I believe this machine is running with the latest updates. Thanks, Juan.
