Cannot find at least one global Catalog server running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack1 or later in the Local Active Directory Site
Dear All I have Installed Active Directory on two windows server 2008 standard edition with default settings. PDC/RID/Infrastructure roles are with DC01 and both are Global catalog servers. Everything seems fine. Now I want to install the exchange server 2007 CAS role on one server 2008 standard edition but it shows the below message. "Cannot find at least one global Catalog server running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack1 or later in the Local Active Directory Site" Can anybody help me to resolve this issue.

Are you installing Exchangeon one of the DCs? If so, see :http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/fa01db13-7a3a-46b4-991a-fecc07d12fa8Otherwise, I would check DNS settings on the Exchange NIC, ensure the AD sites as setup correctly and match ip address schemes.Anything in the event logs on any of the servers that may be related?

Please run nslookup from that CAS box and try to resolve name to ip and ip to name of GC's or DC's. also make sure that you can ping all GC's from CAS box. Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Hi Nice to see your response. I'm installing CAS in diffrent box. Its the member of domain, not a DC. When I ping the domain like ping mail.abc.com it pints to DC01. I have created AD integrated DNS and while launching nslookup, it shows the DC01.ABC.COM. I hope its configured properly. No doubt that DC01 takes long time to start when I give restart command. Kindly suggest

Hi,DC01 and DC02 are reachable from that Member Server. What are DNS Servers mentioned in the Member Server, change sequence. Are both DCs part of seperate AD Sites?, Remove and rejoin the Member Server to Doamin and try !Any specific Errors in Event Viewer on member ServerNitin Gupta (gupnit) | MVP - Exchange | http://www.nitingupta.in/blogs
