Cannot mail disable public folders
Running Exchange 2003 native mode. Any public folder that was migrated from our Exchange 5.5 enviroment, or that was created while we were in mixed mode are all automatically mail enabled. When in Exchange System Manager, if I right-click on the public folder, choose All Tasks - Mail Disable, and look again, the folder remains enabled. If I choose mail disable, then exit ESM and re run it, when I go back to the public folder and look under All Tasks, it now says, Mail Enable (which means it is disabled). However, if I go to the properties tab, I still have the email addresses associated to the folder, and the folder remains Mail Enabled. I have set Anonymous to None. If I delete the folder fromthe Microsoft Exchange System Objects container as instructed by Microsoft, I always get the error: "The mail proxy for this folder cannot be found. This may be due to replication delays. The mail enabled pages will not be shown. ID no: c1038a21" as do the clients in outlook. What's the trick here? Thanks.
