Cannot reply to migrated email

Hi Greg,

This is normal behavior, because the address that you replied to was just a name, the on-premises Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) can't locate the user in order to route the mail correctly.

When you fill with full email address, your organization can route to the correct address through resolving the domain name.

Hi there,

We migrated our mail solution from Gmail Entreprise to Exchange 2013 (on premise).
To migrate the mail box, we synchronized using Google Apps Sync the Gmail mail box in Outlook and did a full synchronization. When the synchro was done, we used the PST build for this mailbox and injected it in the exchange mailbox.

All the mails, contacts, agendas for the users are here.
I can send and receive new mail with the Exchange 2013.

However, if I try to answer (reply or reply to all) to a mail before the migration, I can see all the contact are fully filled ... but exchange return "'550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found" to the mail and do not deliver it.

If I remove all the contacts, and refill them in the box with their full email address, then, it works.
I checked the imported contact in the PST and they are well filled with name, email address etc ...
I tried to clear the auto-complete list of outlook with no more success.

Any idea about this behavior ?

I am using the last known version of GoogleAppsSync and last version version of Outlook 2013 / Exchange 2013 as of today.
I have the same issue on all migrated account on different computer.

Thanks!

Hello Niko,

Thanks you for your answer.

I do not understand how can it be normal.

In the mail, the contact is showed as a name yes, but, I can edit this contact and see its full email address.

When I write a new mail, I also use the same name which point to the same email address and in this case, it works.

Why for a reply to an old mail, the name is not resolved ? when the same name is resolved for a new mail ?

Hi ,

Based on my knowledge i will tell you the possible ways to overcome this problems.

1. If this is issue is happening for an single user , please clear the auto complete cache and send an email by typing the email address manually on the to and cc field in outlook.

2.In case if it is happening for all the users , please use the group policy to empty the auto complete cache for all the users.

3.After doing all the above, if you are going to have outlook in cached mode , please make sure you have an updated OAB in  exchange server as well as in outlook clients.

Please feel free to reply me if you have any queries.
