Cannot uninstall MS PowerPoint 2003

Hello!

MS Powerpoint 2003 is NOT in add/remove program.

I have windows XP 32 bit.  I want to install MS office home and student 2010 and have been told to remove all previous Office files.

I saw there was a topic on this here:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/15c1c72b-24c2-4e0c-b329-77dbe692f048/microsoft-office-power-point-viewer-2003-uninstallation-help

And I ran that MS fix it button  listed in there and while the fix it appeared to run smoothly (I saw the black box with DOS like looking prompts),  the 2003 MS powerpoint program is still there and runs fine. (I even clicked it and opened and saw a powerpoint.)

Is it ok if i just leave it there and install MS office home and student anyway?  If not, how do I remove it? Thank you!

Normally, it is fine to keep them both installed. But, since there is something wrong when you are trying to remove it, I suppose there should be some problem with your current Offce installation, so I'd recommend you to remove it first.

To do so, try to manually remove it by follow the instructions in the following support article:
