I am trying to setupE2007 on win2008 64 This is a clean install of exchange in a clean 2008 ad (no exchange servers elsewhere) The server is also a dc and the only 1 in the domain This installation has been the worse experience I have ever had with any version of exchange When trying to install or remove exchange I am getting the error below!! Hi DF, Looks like this error you are getting while uninstalling the server Do you have hub transport role installed on server? You may verify it by Get-ExchangeServer ServerName | FL command

Hi fghd, Looks like you weretrying to install E2K7 RTM on W2K8 which is not supported. Before proceeding with troubleshooting steps could you please confirm you were installing E2K7 RTM instead of E2K7 SP1?

Thanks df, Do you have the original setup logs? The logs that you posted are for the uninstall, I'd be more interested in the logs you got the first time you tried to install Exchange... basically need to know if PrepareAd and PrepareSchema completed successfully.

Thanks, From the logs I can tell that you were first trying to install E2K7 SP1 RTM (Build 08.01.0240.006) before switching to build 291.2 and also that you were getting a different error then: "The property cannot be found in the cache". Thanks to the magic of the internet I also found that you already disabled IPv6 on the server using regedit . Can you try the following?: Disble IPv6 on the NIC as well and restart the server, then try to run setup again from build 240.006 using Enterprise Admin credentials (I suspect your user credentials, wperry, do not have enough privileges and that would explain the latter errors you were getting with build 291).

Hi Ricardo I cant do the reinstall because I got the same error while uninstalling. I did turn the ip6 off on the nics at the same time I disabled it in the reg I was getting the previous error as you seen and remedied this by adding my acct to all groups..schema..enterprise...exchange just about all top level groups. I did the reinstall and got past that and then this new error came up. I have also been using the same installer on a new dc in a test domain so Im unsure how the previous version would be in the logs...I have also successfully installed this same version on this same box 2 times before. the only difference was that the 1st 2 times the box was upgraded from 03 member server to 08 then dcpromo'd. The only issues I had in those installs was that even after 5 hours with MS support, I couldnt get mail enabledPFs to get thier email. Please confirm whether it is a Exchange Server 2007 with sp1 installed with Exchange Server 2003. 1. Delete Exchange 2003 server from the ADSIedit. Launch ADSIEdit, go to Configuration container | Services | Microsoft Exchange | Your_Org | Administrative Groups | Your_Administrative_Group (Exchange 2003) | Servers 2. Run Setup.com /PrepareAD 3. Backup and Delete the Exchange Registry Key for HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange Note: Just delete the whole Exchange key. 4.
