Is there any reason why you can't cap the memory usage on anExchange 2008 Server, thus leaving accessable memory for other applications that should have priority over the Exchange Server?David K Haines

Hi there David, You can cap the database cache for Exchange 2007 (I presume you meant 7 instead of the 8!). I would download the relevant Exchange Mailbox Calculator and size my ram on the server accordingly for Exchange, and if you have other applications running also, then size the ram accordingly for those also. Now Exchange will try and eat some of that ram, so you may ultimately find you have to do both, but please don't cap the database cache size without ensuring you have sufficient ram for all servers workflows prior to making the change.
