Certificate - how to
Hi everyone.I'm trying to buy a certificate GoDaddy for my SBS 2008, to get everything working on my server. The problem that I have, is that I don't understand hot to specify the right FQDN. The address in the server is remote.mydomain.it. I bought a domain called www.mydomain.it, than a subdomain called remote.mydomain.it. The first thing I did is to redirect this subdomain to the public IP address of the office where I have my server. I also have a Host redirect on no-ip.biz. My problem is that when I go to mydomain.no-ip.biz, the browser, mobile devices and VPN connections point correctly to the public IP Address of the router before the server. So I can connect. While if I go to remote.mydomain.com that point to the same public IP address I get a 403 error, Access denied. Why? It's just a redirect! So now I have to choose an address for my server certificate. Is it right to specify remote.myaddress.it? Massimiliano

Hi Massimiliano,You are correct to specify remote.myaddress.it for your certificate as you can only use a certificate on a domain that is yours. You're 403 error is more than likely related to your configuration. I presume you have previously set a host name binding of 'mydomain.no-ip.biz' in either exchange or IISIn Exhange, go to system manager. Click on Server configuration, right click and get the properties of your server from the right hand pane. Go to the Outlook Anywhere tab and enter the domain of remote.mydomain.comRoss
