Change Modification Date
I'd like to know if there is a way to change the modification date across all emails on an Exhange 2010 SP2 server mailbox? We are using a third party tool to archive emails (EMC SourceOne). It works fine and we are archiving according to the modification date. However, we recently discovered that moving email folders from Outlook to the archive folder does not change the mod date on the email. Moving the email individually changes the Mod date just fine. We have a short 1 year folder and the intent is for the emails to be deleted 1 Year AFTER moving the email to the folder. Any advice or thought would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I recommend you to use MRM from Exchange 2010 to control the message retention. We can set retention policy to certain default folder. When messages are moved to another folder using Mailbox Manager, it stampes with a new MAPI property of PR_LAST_MODIFICATION_TIME.
