Change database path
We ran out of space on our Exchange Server, so I added another drive and moved database to new drive so I could run eseutil on the file. When I try to move it back it says the file is corrupted, so I restored a backup of the edb file to the original location. However, I am unable to select this location for the path. I then tried restoring the file to the new hard drive and when I try to move it back it says it is corrupted. The problem may be with the new hard drive, but at this point I have freed up space by removing some log files, but I cannot get exchange to use the file I have restored. I tried to delete the current path and create a new one, but it tells me that I have to disable all mailboxes first, but I am concerned that this might cause me to lose mailboxes. Is there any way to just change the database path so my restored edb file will be used?

Hi, use this method to change the path. http://www.petri.co.il/move_exchange_stores_to_a_different_disk.htm make sure that you are not mounting an empty database! double check all paths, move the edb file, and make sure you can run "eseutil /mh file.edb" and that you'll notice "Clean-Shutdown". -mostly, when mounting databases that are not clean, exchange will try to locate the missing log files and replay them into the database. so you can also "try" to mount the database first even if it's not clean... if your restored file is not in clean state (most possible) make sure you follow the exchange restore procedures: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124040%28EXCHG.65%29.aspx Good Luck, and be careful with your moves.
