Changing Domain Names
Our company is going to be changing its name in the near future. Because of that, we are going to be changing our domain name also. I've done some research on this and it appears that from a website standpoint, a 301 redirect would be the way to go. However, I'mcurious to know how we should handle the email side of things.Temporarily, we would like for emails to getto a user regardless of which email address is used (example: a user could send mail to iether domainuser@newcompanyname.comor user@oldcompanyname.com).Anyhelp on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Just set a recipient policy (assuming exchange 2000/2003) to accept both domains, point DNS for both domains at your MTA and when you are ready to cut to the new name change the users' primary SMTP address via script or recipient policy.

Thanks for the helpful information. Also, what about our ftp site? If we do a 301 redirect, will our ftp site also get redirected or is that more so handled in the firewall?
