Changing account of linked mailbox
Hi
Exchange 2007/ AD 2008 and using linked mailboxes.
User account forest: ad.com
Resource (mailbox) forest: exchange.com
So we have set up our mailboxes so that users log onto AD.com domain on their PC's, but access mailboxes in the Exchange.com forest. The mailboxes are set as linked mailboxes to the AD.com accounts.
Some users are going to be switching to another Business Unit of the company where they use a different AD forest. So the requirements will change to:
User account forest: ad2.com
Resource (mailbox) forest: exchange.com
We will also be setting up the same trusts between AD2.com as AD.com.
But how do we change the 'linking' of the mailboxes to point to the different AD accounts?

Hi,
You need to disconnect the mailbox from the current user and then reconnect the mailbox to the new account.

Hi,
I'm thinking that you can use set-mailbox cmdlet to reconfigure your linked mailbox properties.
Set-Mailbox -Identity "MailboxName" -LinkedDomainController "AD2DomainController" -LinkedMasterAccount AD2.com\john -OrganizationalUnit Users -UserPrincipalName john@contoso.com -LinkedCredential:(Get-Credential AD2.com\Admin01)
