hi, I needed to install my outlook on a new computer and changed servers from POP to IMAP.

Now, the folders Sent, Trash, Junk, Drafts all appear with in my inbox, and not outside of it, separated, as it was before. This is influencing me when i serch my inbox / sent items and making life difficult for me. the location on the folders according to their properties is:

\\me@myemail.com\Inbox   - and i cannot for the life of me find where i change it. 

can anyone assist?...

Maybe it is View - "Show as Conversations" checkbox selected?

Check the folder hierarchies via OWA. If OWA works fine, then there should be the issue with Outlook.

Restart outlook with the following command to check this issue.

Oultook.exe /resetfolders

Outlook.exe /resetnavpane
