Class not registered issues
Glad to hear that DigiScope is working out well and that the attorney is off the ledge so to speak :-) So you are getting this DLL registration issue when trying to use the RSG? WHat other types of specific actions cause this to occur? WHat are the exact errors? Troy Werelius Lucid8

The reason this is in the Exchange Forums is because it is related to interaction between Active Directory and Exchange Management. Anything that you can do internally to either AD or Exchange run fine (Add users, message tracking, directory permissions) but whenever I try to do any activity where the two parts have to talk to each other, I get the "Class not Registered" error. This is preventing me from doing email forwarding, or mailbox recovery (which I right now don't need, but did). If I knew what dll's were used to communicate between AD and Exchange I can regsvr32 them and register them, but I have no clue which ones. Any assistance on this would be great. Paul did you try reinstalling the latest OS and Exchange Service packs to see if the appropriate DLL's would become registered? Troy Werelius Lucid8

I did the other day, both SP2 Exchange and SP2 2003 and still the same issue. By the way, thanks for the referral to your wonderful product, the lawyers mailbox is being recovered as we speak and he is not so SUE-acidal at me (pun intended). Next time I am in Bellevue I am dropping by and saying thanks to everyone there. This other issue cropped up while trying to recover the old database, there has to be a connector dll or several that control interactions between the two systems, which is what probably is causing this situation. Are these the messages you get upon attempting an action or are these in the event log? if upon, action, have you examined the Event logs? Also check this out, its worth looking into http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Exchange&ProdVer=6.5.6940.0&EvtID=1009&EvtSrc=MSExchangeMU&LCID=1033

I tried the metabase.bin thing, that didn't work. The option of uninstalling and reinstalling IIS cannot happen until Friday night, but still, I have done the whole thing once already in the past week and I am still having this issue. I have tried the process monitor, but it is hard to tell when something happens that I would have to make notice of. I am sure there is some stupid dll or two that control the communication between Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.

Hmm might be best to open a support case with MS to see if they can assist. THat or get the client to upgrade to the latest Exchange server and migrate off this one. Troy
