Clicking on a colleague in Outlook (settings)

When I click on an internal colleague using Outlook 2010 pro, i can see details like their telephone number, address, organisational chart, email address etc etc..

When I do this using Outlook 2013 pro their address is not showing.

Please could someone advise me if its possible to get the address field in this area?

Many Thanks

James

Hi James,

Would you please clarify how to "click on an internal colleague"? Do you mean clicking a contact in Outlook?

I'll appreciate it if you can provide a screenshot to tell us the difference between Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 when clicking on an internal colleague.

You can share the screenshot to us via sending it to GBSD TN Office Information Collection  ibsofc@microsoft.com. The email subject should be the thread link.

Thank you for the screenshot, James. Now, I understand better about this issue.

This behavior has been changed in Outlook 2013 when we click on a contact or email address. However, we should see all information you entered when creating a contact for the user in the new contact view. It's a contact view which can combine contacts from multiple sources to a single contact.

If the Address field is empty, it won't show in the view when clicking on the email address. To verify this, please check as below:

Do you have the internal colleague added to your Contact folder? If so, please click People on the navigation bar, switch to Business Card view, and then click the contact for the internal colleague. In the open the dialog, check if the Address field is filled. If not, it won't show the Address field in the view when clicking on the email address.

If the internal colleague is in your GAL and not added as an Outlook contact, please open the Address Book under Home tab. Search for the colleague in GAL scope, then, click the search result to verify if the Address field is empty.

Hi Steve

Thank you for being so helpful

when I click on the name in the 'To' field this info is being populated from SharePoint source data and is missing the address.

When I go to the Global address list all of the data appears including the address

We ideally want to leave this current setup but now bring in the address, I guess in SharePoint I somehow need to add an address field and sync this with whats in AD and the GAL.

Kind Regards

James

Hi James,

You are totally right. Since the information is retrieved from SharePoint source data, We need to add or fill the address field in SharePoint. On Outlook client side, we can do nothing to change it.
