Dear, restore a public folder in Exchange 2003 contacts from a pst file and I can not change some elements even though the client permissions have the owner role. The public folder is corrupt. You will need to create a new public folder, copy the contents to a folder in a mailbox and then copy them across to the new folder. Probe to copy the contacts into new folders and I can modify, the issue is that those contacts now I can not set permissions as I have always total control .... Now there is no problem since all change, the problem is when wehave after you define the permissions that were in the plans. regards Daniel

I have seen this before and never really found a complete solution. Only seems to happen with Exchange 2003 as well. Technically there are no item level permissions so what you are seeing shouldn't happen. Therefore that indicates that something has got corrupt, either in the folder, or if the problem follows despite what I have written above, in the contact object itself. If the latter is true, then that will mean creating a new contact and copying the content across. One client actually did a simple export of the contacts to a spreadsheet and then imported them again as there were so many with the problem. It should also be pointed out that Exchange is not a CRM, so 15,000 contacts in a public folder is probably not the best place for them.
