Might be a DNS problem. In Local Area Connection properties, Internet Protocol 4 (TCP/IPv4) properties. Is it Obtain DNS server automatically or Use the following DNS server addresses? If the latter is the case, chose the automatically option, do a ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew. jas

If outlook profile is configured before and if it worked in the past but not now.... Check the status of Outlook (Online or Offline) if its offline go to file and uncheck "Work Offline", also as Jon suggested check the DNS server settings and try to ping Exchange from the client.Any antivirus system with Firewall enabled stop it and try.

I am able to access OWA via the steps you mentioned, but not sharepoint. I can even search the Active Directory of the Network. My cleint is using Outlook 2007 to access Exchange 2007.The first two checks work fine while setting up the account. However, the thrid - long on to server is where i am getting the error message..."The actin cannot be completed. THe connectin to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."Other people can connect fine. I can connect fine via other clients! It is set to automatic and I am current connected to the domain...although i cannot access exchange or sharepoint...but can access network printers and file storage and OWA.Outlook is online...firewall is managed through server, not cleint and the firewall is off.THANKS FOR THE HELP

Hi,Since you can conncet to exchange using your account via other clients, it seems your client computer has some problem.Could you use another account to log on to your client computer to check whetheroutlook 2007works or not?Or did you create a new profile as VINOD said? It works?Frank Wang

I will try a different account on a different domain on the cleint and report back if to see if it connects...the cleint had an issue where it was disjoined from the domain...we rejoined it to the domain and it seems all domain permissions except outlook and sharepoint work fine now!

I used a different account with the same domain...and the problem persisted on the client with both user accounts! Seems to be a client issue...any ideas?? I also thought it might be different firewall settings (for some reason) with different parts of the network hardware...so plugged the client into the same ethernet jack as the workstation that both accounts are working for and have the same issues with the client...so once again it is seeming to be a client issue...any ideas?

Hi,Since you have tried using another account to log on the client, and it doesn't work, either. So if you change your profile, I think it won't be work.Maybe you should reinstall the outlook or even reinstall the OS.About client problem, youcan ask a question in Office forum.http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/office2007deploymentcompatibility/threadsFrank Wang

Have reinstalled Outlook...made it unavailable to the client through office 2007 enterprise and then reallowed it...that did not work. Is the operating system the only option left?

Yes, I think so. By the way, you can ask the same question in office client forum for support.Frank Wang
