Combining conversations in Outlook 2010

Hello Vincent,

You are on the right avenue. The current forum is for developers. I'd suggest asking non-programming questions on the Outlook IT Pro Discussions or Microsoft Community forums instead.

First of all, make sure that you set up the current view to group Outlook items into conversations.

Conversations are based on the time and date marker and the subject line. You may check out the ConversationID property of Outlook items to make sure that items are not changed. You can use any low-level property viewer for observing item properties at runtime - see MFCMAPI or OutlookSpy.

Hi there,

Firstly apologies if this is not the correct form, (since it is more a user issue than a developer one).

Background

  • I have rules setup to move e-mails from my in-box to a separate folder in a different pst file.
  • The files from certain e-mail addresses are move to a project folder.
  • Depending on the mail content I then manually shift them to specific sub folders of the project folder.

Here is the issue

When I move a new e-mail to the sub folder it does not recognise it as the same conversation as e-mails already present, even though the subject is exactly the same.

Setup

  • Office Professional Plus 2010 Version 14.0.7015.1000 (32 bit)

Thanks for your help and time,

Vincent.

Hi,

Since this issue is related to outlook and there are more outlook experts in the outlook forum. We will move this thread to Outlook forum. Thanks for your understanding.

Regards

Starain
