Combining versions of Exchang Server
We introduced exchange Server 2007 with 1-Mbx and 2-HT/CAS servers in 2009. All system are within the LAN and behind firewall. Now that we are contemplating providing OTA-Sync functionlity in the DMZ, must the additional CAS also be 2007
version or we can use 2010 version.
Since we might be migrating to version 2010 towards next year ending, the thought is if possible, to already start with the 2010-CAS role in the presently configuration.
Thanks

Thanks for the response. Please I will appreciate more information on the configuration with OTA.
If I am not mistaking, I need CAS role to be able to provide OTA possibilities for users to synchronize with the MailServer through Internet. If it is not advisable to have CAS in DMZ because of security reason, how can I go about it?.
The users cannot access the CAS in the Internal LAN becuase of the firewall, but need to be able to synchronize with their Mobile divices.
Thanks

After that, you can use Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer to ensure that you can use Activesync from internet.

Thanks to all for your inputs.
Do anyone have idea what minimum version of Exchange Server (CAS) is required for OTA with iPhone. I am coming across conflicting Information between 2007 and 2010.

Hello Xiu
How viable is this anylyzer tool, I was not able to use it against Exchange 2007. I need the possibility to be able to slot in the Exchange server Hostname.
I know my Outlook Autodiscover is working fine, but running the Analyzer against it fails
