Command for setting the Default Retention Policy?
We have one Retention Policy called 'Default Retention Policy'. When a useradmin creates a new mailbox in EMC I would like the Retention Policy to be ticked and 'Default Retention Policy' selected.
The aim is so useradmins don't forget to select the retention policy. Even better, a way to set this option as default so the tick box doesnt need to be selected.
Also, is there an equivelant option for 'Default Sharing Policy'?

Hello,
in the "New mailbox" wizard there is an option to add a Retention Policy to the new mailbox. It's located under "Mailbox settings".
As an alternative you can use the EMS cmdlet New-Mailbox with the parameter -RetentionPolicy.
I don't think it's possible that the wizard selects your policy automatically without user interaction.

Thanks - aware of the options but I'm looking to assign default retention policy automatically without useradmin having to remember to apply.
Would be good if this could be clarified?
Thanks,
Richard

Hi,
Retention Policy can only be linked at mailbox level.
For new mailbox, you can create a script including the new-mailbox andSet-Mailbox -RetentionPolicy to create mailbox. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
