Complete OWA Redirection with E2007 SP1 and WS2008?
I'm trying to configure comprehensive OWA redirection on my WS2008 CAS servers. I found a Technet article that pertains to 2003, but IIS 7 has some marked differences.
The NLB hostname alias for my CAS servers is "OWA". So I want http://owa, http://owa/owa and https://owa all to be redirected to https://OWA.company.org/owa.
I first went into the Error Messages for the default web site and configured the 403 error to respond to a 302 redirect and the absolute URL is https://owa.company.org/owa. This took care of http://owa and http://owa/owa redirection.
NextI go into the HTTP redirect settings for the default web site and tried several things.I configured a simple redirect to "/OWA" and checking the "only redirect requests to content in this directory" would it. Sometimes it seems to work, and others I sometimes get extra "/owa/"'s which cause problems.
For example, if I just type "OWA" in IE I get the forms login page. I then try to login and I get a 404 error and the URL is https://owa.company.org/OWA/owa. Clearly there is an extra OWA in the path.
If I remove the /owa from the Error Page redirect, that seems to take care of the extra OWA when going to HTTP addresses. But now it's a double redirect..one to https://owa.company.org then a redirect to https://owa.company.org/owa. Isn't there a single redirect option for all possible URLs?
What are the proper HTTP Redirect settings for the default web site?

Hi,
Company.org is the domain name?
Then you can try to add CNAME record in DNS.
Add an alias (CNAME) resource record to a zone

DNS MX Records and CNAMEs

Besides, you may use IIS forum to get better help.

Thanks for the input, but I'm not looking for DNS changes. I'm looking for the recommended methods in IIS for full URL re-direction to OWA. This is separate from any DNS/MX issues.
