Configuring DAG cluster quorum
Hello All,
I am in process of installing Exchange 2013 SP1 Server. I have two exchange servers 2013 with combined roles. During DAG configuration I am facing some issues. Adding the node into DAG giving me Error "Some or all identity references could not be translated".
I am configuring FSW on my Domain Controller running windows server 2012 R2. The Exchange Operating System is also Windows Server 2012 R2. I followed the below link;
http://exchangeserverpro.com/error-identity-references-translated-exchange-2013-dag/
everything was as it stated but the last command giving me error which configuring Fire share witness
the error is;
"Set-ClusterQuorum : There was an IO error validating share path '\\adds01\dagfsw.abc.com'."
I am attaching the snapshot also.

Please guide..

I could not find folder in actual place but is available in Computer Management in Shared Folder. When I try to open it give me error message as shown in the picture. I have give both the exchange servers full access permission and even Everyone has Full
Access

Seems like you are using Server 2012 R2. Server 2012 R2 and Sharing works differently to Server 2008. Are you sharing out the D:\FileShareWitness or D:\FileShareWitness\DAGFSW.xxxx ?

Yes I am sharing DAGFSW.xxxx

Here is how your permissions should look.
Shared Folder -
Everyone (Read/Write)
DOMAIN\DAGNAME$ (Read\Write)
Within the folder you created make sure the DOMAIN\DAGNAME$ has full access to write to the folder.

I can only modify the share permission as the folder is disappeared and I cannot change the security permissions. secondly there are 3 types of permission in share Full Access, Modify, Read.
the DAGNAMES$ has already Full Access Permissions.

When you create a DAG a computer account is created in AD with the description Failover cluster virtual network name account. Please give that account full access to the Share.
Can you create a new folder and assign the permissions?
1) Navigate to D:\FileShareWitness\DAGFSW.xxxx
2) Share the folder DAGFSW.xxxx and give the DAG$ and everyone full access to the share
3) Please add the Exchange Servers, Exchange Trusted Subsystems and Domain Admin Users to the Administrators Group in Computer Management.
4) Add your Witness Server to the AD group named Exchange Servers
5) Create a folder named Exchange 2013 or anything you would like to call it and give the DAG$ full access to this folder.

Thanks for reply. I followed all the steps already except point number 5. why we need to create another folder?

You don't have to but I have a habit of keeping everything clean.
Did it work once you setup the permissions properly?

@ praveen I know about 2010 but the things are little bit changed in 2013. The issue is coming on Exchange 2013 installed on Wind 2012 r2 a hyper-v machine.

I forgot to mention, my both the Exchange servers are hyper-v virtual machines. the FSW is a DC which is a physical server. Normally how many IOPs are required in this case? Is my problem related to IOPs?
