Configuring SMTP authentication -SOLVED
I am trying to configure SMTP authentication to use the User Login Name with UPN. Example: user@company1.com and user@compnay2.com. I have been able to get this to work within OWA with little effort but seem to hit a rut when trying to set this up for Oulook2007 users. When trying to send Mail, Exchange is trying to Auth with the Pre2000 User Name. This presents a bit of a problem because I am using multiple domains that happen to have the same User Name with a different UPN. I have been changing the Pre2000 User Names to "user.company1.com" in order to separate the two users. In the following example User1 and User2 are two completly seperate accounts. Example:User1: john@compnay1.com | Pre2000 User: john.company1.com | Display Name: john@compnay1.comUser2: john@compnay2.com | Pre2000 User: john.company2.com | Display Name: john@compnay2.comI can log into OWA with john@compnay2.com. In Outlook2007 I have to use john.company2.com to send mail. The above example works great for OWA. I understand that I can just configure Outlook with the pre2007 User Name but feel that this will end up causing me more problems down the line with people trying to setup their own Outlook.
