Configuring a third Windows 2003 DNS server
I have created a third DNS server that is to serve as a replacement for one of my physical DNS servers in the future. I promoted the server to a DC using the DCPROMO command, and shortly afterwards installed the DNS role. After installing the DNS role and going through the wizard, that server only replicated 4 out of the 8 forward zones that are stored on the primary. To give a little bit more information as to what type of zones are setup, there are 4 AD integrated zones and 4 standard primary zones. The only zones that replicated to the server are the 4 AD integrated zones, what is causing the 4 Standard Primary zones to not replicate to this third server?

what is causing the 4 Standard Primary zones to not replicate to this third server? That is by Design! This is a forum for Exchange, so I suggest that you post in the Windows Network Infrastructure Forum instead. (If you want to have these four zones on your new DNS Server, either convert them to AD-Integrated zones, or create secondary copies. The first option is recommended in the Windows World)Martina Miskovic
