Hi! Last week while teaching MOC 10135 one of my students asked me if it was possible to connect an Edge Server to multiple Exchange organization. I'm not aware of any such possiblity, but I thought I would ask here. Maybe one of you has a solution. The situation seems to be that this student works for the goverment and they not only have seperate domains to protect their data, but also seperate forest between each agency. They DO have only on access from the internet, though... Now his idea was to place only on Edge Server in the peremeter network and have alle the agency connect to that, because they are all reached through one "base" domain (SMTP). Hi, AFAIK you should configure Accepted Domains on your Edge Server and making MX records is the solution for your situation. If further help needed kindly let me know. Answer is Yes, What you are asking for is what called: External Relay, like the below image MS Says: "When you configure an external relay domain, messages are relayed to an e-mail server that's outside the Exchange organization and outside the organization's network perimeter. The messages are relayed by the Edge Transport server. In this scenario, the MX resource record for the external relay domain references a public IP address for the Exchange 2010 organization that's relaying messages. The Edge Transport server receives the messages for recipients in the external relay domain and then routes the messages to the e-mail system for the external relay domain. A Send connector from the Edge Transport server to the external relay domain is required in this scenario. The external relay domain may also use your organization's Edge Transport server as a smart host for outgoing mail." If you need more details, or details for the how-to, please feed me back.

But I forgot to mention that the customer was asking about one Edge Server that uses Edge Sync with multiple Exchange Organizations. As far as I know there is no way to use Edge Subscription with multiple Exchangs Orgs, or is there? Hi Gerrit, The above ways are the only ways - you cannot have multiple Edgesyncs for different Exchange Organizations. doing the above also removes some of the good functionality Edge provides.
