Connector and Reverse DNS
HelloI use a Exchange Server 2007 Server. This Server is configured for domainA.com. Also domainB.com is configured on Exchange, but the server is not only responsible for domainB.com. Also the mailboxes are downloaded by a POP3 Connector. My question is now about the Reverse DNS. If Exchange does send E-Mails for domaibB.com directly to the Internet (no smarthost), are they marked as spam or will this work? Because the IP is only in the DNS for domainA.com available, not in the DNS for domainB.Thanks for an inputNorbert

Hello JohanThanks for the update. What could be a solution? In Exchange 2003 it was possible to use many connectors and control which connectory is used for each domainwith ACL's. How can this be done in 2007?ThanksNorbert

Hi,You don't need to change the Exchange environment, you need to change your externel dns so that:domain A has an MX-record that points to the external IP-address of your Exchange serverdomain B has an MX-record that also points to that external IP-addressThis should work as far as I know.Regards,Johan blog: www.johanveldhuis.nl

Hi,To better understand this issue, we should know how to work for reverse DNS:http://www.outlookexchange.com/articles/JasonSherry/sherry_c20p1.aspRegarding the solution of the issue, having multiple PTR records for the same IP address is the proper way.ThanksAllen
