Constantly getting disconnected from Exchange 2003 using rpc over https
We have been running small business server 2003 for about 6 months now and have always had problems with exchange. Currently we only use the server for exchange and currently only use it for shared calendaring. Everyone is still using pop3 from another provider for e-mail. We have about 35 users spread out around the country and everyone is using rpc over https and every user is using Outlook 2007. Basically outlook disconnects and reconnects to the server numerous times throughout the day. Outlook remains disconnected more than it is connected and most of the time Outlook reports "trying to connect to microsoft exchange" This causes problems as it sometimes causes outlook to crash or will make it show and unstable while it it trying to connect. There is nothing obvious in the error logs that I can see. I suspected it could be our switch and firewall but then plugged the server directly into the dsl modem and the issue persisted. I don't think bandwidth is the issue as the speed seems to be fine. I also will mention I can remote into the server without any problems getting disconnected. This leads me to believe it is an exchange issue and not a connection issue. Does anyone have any ideas?

Nick, Check the following and let me know their results: 1. Are you able to access OWA from external networks? 2. Which certificates are you using? Windows PKI or 3rd party? 3. Open outlook using the RpcDiag Switch (Outlook /RpcDiag) on any client machine and check if you see HTTPS under Conn column? 4. Use www.testexchangeconnectivity.com and check at what step is your RPC/HTTPS failing? 5. Also check the IIS logs on the server and see if you can find any error codes? Harpreet
