Contact incomplete in GAL vs when Cached Mode enabled
Hi,We're running Exchange 2003 native with SP2 on Windows 2003 Enterprise w/ SP2 also.We have a situation where we have a contact in the GAL that if pulled up in Outlook where Cached Mode is turned on, I see the correct contents in the fields. If the same object is pulled up in Outlook with Cached Mode disabled, the only information displayed is the LegacyExchangeDN in the Display field.Looking at the contact in AD, everything looks fine. In comparing to another contact in the same OU, I don't have the issue. From what I can best tell, this is only with 1 contact. We're likely going to just delete and recreate it, but in case it is more widespread I'd like to understand the cause first. Any clues as to why? Thanks!RedLimey

Hi,It normally happens when any contact is deleted in AD but available in OAB cache of outlook but as you said it is live in AD then I would check below things.- Make sure that it is not hidden in address list.- Check SMTP addresses and make sure correct address selected as a Primary.- Try to download OAB manually in Cache Mode outlook profile by going into Send/Receive and seethe result.- Compare AD attributes of problematic and a normal contact in ADSIEdit.msc instead of ADU&C which shows additional attributes.Amit Tank || MVP - Exchange || MCITP - Exchange 2007 || http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

There are differences in looking up contacts while incahced mode and online mode. Check using ADSIEdit if the contact's properties are properly populated by comparing it against a proper contact. If the attributes are correct, then there is a chance that OAB generation process is going worng, enable logging for that and check.+Ravi
