Contacts with same primary email address
In most situations, two people (external contacts in my case) will not use the same email address. In the academic world however, the parents of a single student may use the same email address. So, John Smith is:jsmith@hotmail.comand his wife Sally Smith, simply uses her husband's email. That may be less frequently the case nowadays but I've encountered it several times now.The problem is that I cannot assign the address jsmith@hotmail.com to2 distinct or different contacts.I get an error message to the effect that the email address in question is already being used by someone else.Is there a (technical) solution to this?Thank you in advance!

Le,You can certainly hardcode the email address on two differnt contacts using ADSIEDIT but then the mail delivery to either of these contacts can not be guaranteed. If you have Exchange server 2007 then you can achive thi ssometimes with the help of a transport rule on your edge server. Where you can actually create two contacts with two different email addresses and then ask the edge server role to send messages sent to either of contacts to an email address. For exchange 2003 and earlier version, No! there isn't any way that I am aware of.MMilind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com

Thank you for your input.Unfortunately, we do not have an Edge Transport server (very basic setup here).
