That's usually caused by Anti-Virus software. You've excluded the Exchange database and log file directories from file scanning haven't you? If not, do so. Then release the quarantined log file(s). --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hello, From the error information, this may the Exchange Database files are using by other application, so it not allow you to access it. Follow Rich's suggestion to check whether there is any AV software scanning your Exchange Database files. This error also occur when your database is not dismount. Go to confirm the database has been dismounted Stop AV software scanning the Exchange Database files, and try to do software recovery again.
