Cross Forest Availibility Service
Hello,
I have two exhange 2007 forests. I am trying to setup cross forest availbility. I have set up my forests using
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2011/03/04/3412075.aspx as a guide. I have followed all the steps but I am still unable to check free/busy accross the forests. When
I check the availibility I just get the "No Information" for any user that is in the other forest. My GAL is synced via FIM 2010, I have setup the availibility address spaces, set the CAS permissions, the DNS is configured for autodiscover,
the scp is setup.
Any troubleshooting steps appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
Here are some troubleshooting steps:
1. * From each PDC's ping another domain name
* From the Outlook 2007 client on on one domain ping another domain
If any of this step fails, review your DNS name resolution.
* DNS client configuration
* DNS server Primary, Secondary and Stub zones;
* DNS Forward and Root Hints options.
2. Test Trust relationship between the two forests (A one-way outgoing trust is required between the Exchange forest and the accounts forest)
Netdom trust trusted_domain_name /domain: trusting_domain_name /verify
Verify that the Master Account has full access to the Linked Mailbox as well as the smtp address using the cmdlets
Get-Mailbox and Get-MailboxPermission
for eg:
Get-Mailbox <mailbox_user> | fl
Get-Mailboxpermission <mailbox_user> | fl
3. Review Keywords and ServiceBindingInformationService attributes in the Service Connection Point (SCP) object for each Exchange 2007 Client Access server. Use the
ldifde.exe command, Adsiedit.msc or Get-ClientAccessServer cmdlet.
Ldifde.exe –f scp.txt –d
Get-ClientAccessServer | fl *Auto*
4. Review the Exchange certificate on the CAS using the command Get-ExchangeCertificate and verify the following attributes:
CertificateDomain, Services, Status, IsSelfSigned, Issuer and Subject
Get-ExchangeCertificates | fl
5. Every time you created a new authoritative Accepted domain under Organization Configuration – Hub Transport – Accepted Domains tab you have to run the
Export-AutodiscoverConfig cmdlet
On an Exchange 2007 Client Access server in the source forest, run the following command to retrieve the credentials that you will use to run the
Export-AutodiscoverConfig cmdlet:
$a = Get-Credential
Export-AutoDiscoverConfig -DomainController <FQDN> –TargetForestDomainController <String> -TargetForestCredentials $a -MultipleExchangeDeployments $true

Hello,
For clairification this is not a account/resource domain. I have a requirement to allow users in domain A to book resources in domain B. I plan to do a cross forest migration eventually. As I said I have run through all the steps in
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2011/03/04/3412075.aspx. I ran through the tests you oulined and everything appears in order.
Checking a resource in the remote domain still results in "No Information' being returned.
Thanks

Double check what I did against my blog when I implemented cross forest free busy. I used older GALsync and not FIM but same principle.

How is thing going on? Is the Availability service obtained from cross forest?
If the issue persists, I suggest you also refer to the following article to configure Exchange in cross forests.
