Custom receive connector
Pls help...If I create a custom receive connector to accept mail only from a particular IP range then what will happen to mails coming from all other application servers which do not fall into this IP range. Would they be accepte by my default receive connector or will they get rejected by custom receive connector.I need to know how exchange decides which receive connector should accept the email..is it just only by looking at the source IP of the incoming email server.

They'll still hit your Default Receive Connector. Exchange will use the most explicitly defined information first. So in your case, mail from the specific IP will use your Custom Receive Connector since that has the IP explicitly defined on your custom receive connector. All other mail will hit your Default Receive Connector.MVP | MCSE:M | MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator | MCTS: OCS + Voice Specialization | http://www.shudnow.net
