DC roll on an Ex2k7 server?
Does MS support running Ex2k7 on a DC? I'm not crazy about the idea, but we're trying to consolidate servers.

i believe it is supported, but you'd lose DC fault tolerance as exchange would only look to the locally installed DC. It is definitely not a best practice; why not virtualize some DCs if you are looking to consolidate?

It can be done, however (as you have guessed it is not recommended - in fact strongly not recommended - but it is a supported configuration) - one thing you should also know that when Exchange 2007 is installed on a member server - that server cannot be promoted to a DC.

Knightly and Andy explained good. Another article for your reference:

That link is dated 2004, and it's for Exchange 2003. Much has changed since then.

That is true, however as much has changed in Exchange 2007 the recommendations still remain the same. You can do it, and indeed you will get support, however you might be putting yourself in a difficult position later on. Essentially it is up to you and indeed your situation in terms of hardware will dictate your choice, but, if you can make Exchange 2007 a member server.
Cheers

Hi,
Yes, it's for 2003 version, but some reasonsare the same in Exchange 2007. In 2007, it's not recommended also.
