I am using Office 2010. In Excel Three files fetching data from each other. viz. file A from B, B from A and C from A. When opening files A or B no prompt shown for data updation but when open file C, the prompt appears. I have selected the start up prompt as " Don't display the alert and update update links" in all three files. All files in my trusted locations in Trust center settings. All three files are .xlsx extension. I want not to display the prompt in file C. Please intimate solution.

Hi,

As far as I know, If we select the option Don't display the alert and update links on a workbook, this choice is ignored. If the person who opens the workbook has the Ask to update automatic links check box selected, the message appears.

Thus, please try to clean the "Ask to update automatic links" option.

  • Click Advanced.
  • Under General, click to clear the Ask to update automatic links check box.
  • Click Excel Options.

Sir,

My problem is different. All other files, which have data links to other files, don't prompt the message but only one file prompt for it, even when all the settings are same in other files as well as in file "C". I don't want to see the prompt. I tried the suggestiongiven but the position is still same.

Thanks

Hi R.P.Sharma,

If you could share us the sample files (3 files) via OneDrive or via Email (ibsofc@microsoft.com), I'd like to test it.

Please note : Hide the private information and add the thread URL or title in the email.

Thanks for your understanding.
