Data is unavailable, Microsoft Exchange On-Premises
This is my first deployment of Exchange Server 2010. After Installing Microsoft Exchange Server on Windows Server 8, I access the Exchange Management Console, and then connect to Microsoft Exchange On-Premises. I am told that data is unavailable and that I should "click here to access the latest data". Upon doing this MMC crashes and gives me the following error: FX:{A5406CA3-6393-48a0-8827-CF06F0C94C55} Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Exception type: System.NullReferenceException Exception stack trace: at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemManager.WinForms.AutomatedDataHandlerBase.CreateColumn(DataTable table) at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemManager.WinForms.AutomatedDataHandler..ctor(Assembly resourceContainedAssembly, String resourceName, WorkUnit[] workUnits) at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SnapIn.Esm.GatherOrganizationalInformationDataHandler..ctor() at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SnapIn.Esm.GatherOrganizationalInformationWizardForm..ctor() at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SnapIn.Esm.ShowGatherOrganizationalInformationWizardFormCommandAction.CreateWizardForm() at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemManager.WinForms.ShowWizardCommandAction.InternalCreateWizardForm() at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemManager.WinForms.ShowWizardCommandAction.OnExecute() at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SnapIn.Esm.StartPageLink.Invoke() at System.Windows.Forms.LinkLabel.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Label.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) Under Server Manager I have and error/warning saying that MSExchangeTransport Service is Stopped. This may or may not be related to the issue. If someone could shed some light on this error and how to overcome it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Alright thank you for the reply! I will just have to wait for the new release of exchange server, preferably one that allows IPv6 with IPv4 disabled. Is exchange server 2012 available? *EDIT* Let me rephrase the question. Is an equivalent of MS Exchange Server available for windows Server 8? Upon reading this http://exchangeserverpro.com/installing-exchange-server-2010-windows-server-8 . It states that I can still configure exchange server through the Shell, but not the management console. This is what I will do, although am unfamiliar with the cmdlets. Also I did not have to do any of the special steps that he has to install, just ran the installer and everything went smoothly (minus the console).

Hub Transport Role must be installed last for it to install correctly.
