Database decomission
I'm sure this is a noob question but also take into consideration that I'm a bit paranoid and I hope you understand.
I'm migrating to Exchange 2010 from 2007. I have 22 mailbox databases based on branch office. I've moved a couple offices over. I've dismounted the database. I'm at the point now of what next. Should I remove the database and storage group from the
console OR should I leave the objects and move the database somewhere else to reclaim disk space, of which I am running out just in case I need to bring it back for some reason... Of which I don't know.
What's the best way here?
Thanks

So you moved all the mailboxes to the 2010 on some of the 2007 databases and now you have databases with no mailboxes? Yes delete the DB and storage group from the EMC and then delete the DB and Log files. If you want to be extra careful if you're paranoid
just make sure you have one final back up.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Thanks,
I copied the dismounted db and catalog folder to an external drive on the the server and figured if I delete the db and leave the objects if I need to put them back quickly I could just copy them back and remount the db... Albiet and empty db but...
Just being paranoid.
Thanks
