Delegate and resource forest
Hi all,
a user report to us if is possible to share his calendar with another user in another forest.
The two forest involved are trusted and contacts are replicated by FIM.
I've tried from my Outlook to share my calendar with a colleague in the trusted forest, adding his contact from GAL to my delegate but Outlook reply to me with an error message reporting "The user Name Surname cannot be added. Non-local users cannot be given rights on this server".
What I've to do to solve this issue ?
Outlook 2010 on Exchange 2010
Thanks

Hi,

Generally, if you want to share calendar across forest, please make sure you have configured the following settings:

1.  Forest Trust between two forests.

2. Configure cross-forest Availability service in Exchange server.

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125182.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

3. GALSYNC configured with either ILM FP1 SP1 or FIM 2010 (or manual cross-forest mail contacts created).

Please check the mail users you replicated by FIM and make sure it is an AD user which can be assigned folder permission instead of a contact in ADUC. For your reference, there is an article about the detailed steps to configure Cross Forest Delegation:

If you still have any question about this, please ask a question in Exchange forum for more help:
