Delete A Very Large Amount of Junk E-Mail
Hello- My very first post.
Well this is the Chairman of the Board mailbox that I'm dealing with. I didn't administer this box, I have inherited the problem. He has over 450,000 junk emails and rising. How can I delete the junk emails out of the mailbox without
setting up an outlook client? Its been updating for a couple of days now. The numbers keep going up.
I don't want to lock up the server.
Thanks.

Seriously? I'd consider deleting the mailbox (NOT the user!) and
creating a new one.

You could use OWA, but you wouldn't finish deleting the messages
before you were eligible for retirement.

Don't you have a spam filter?

You won't. Outlook won't be happy, but Exchange will be okay.
You could create a managed default folder policy and have Exchange
remove everthing older than "X" days. Or you could use Export-Mailbox
-- if the "good" mail in a folder different to the spam -- and just
save the good stuff. Then delete the mailbox and create a new one.
